Vranken-Pommery Monopole was founded in 1976 by Paul-François Vranken. Thanks to this man's vision and his passion for great French winemaking, the company has grown over the years and is now made up of a collection of exceptional vineyards totalling more than 2,500 hectares, in Champagne, France; the Douro Valley of Portugal; and the Mediterranean region.

Over the years, Vranken has joined together with three other Champagne houses, Pommery, Heidseick & Co. Monopole, and Charles Lafitte.

The group comes in second in the ranking of Champagne houses, but is the world's number-one producer of rosés, thanks to the ambrosial wines produced at Château la Gordonne, Billette, Domaine Royal de Jarras, Listel, Félicité, and Domaine de Villeroy.
Vranken-Pommery Monopole also owns vineyards in the Upper Douro, home to the best port wines: Rozès, Quinta do Grifo, Terras Do Grifo, and São Pedro.

The Vranken-Pommery Monopole group was founded in 1976 by Paul-François Vranken.
Louis-Alexandre Pommery, wool merchant, joined forces in 1856 to Narcisse Greno to found the house Pommery & Greno.
On the death of Louis-Alexandre in 1858, his widow, Jeanne Alexandrine Pommery , who gets what is still a modest affair. In 1866, Louis, the eldest son of the couple, is associated with the management of the company took the name of Veuve Pommery & Son.
The widow developed activity, dug 18 kilometers of cellars and large buildings in neo-Gothic style Elizabethan in the neighborhood of the butte Saint-Nicaise in Reims.
The underground network connects crayères Gallo-Roman times. The company was owned by different groups of luxury at the end of the twentieth century : Xavier Gardinier, BSN group , LVMH , and since 2002, the Vranken Monopole group.

In addition to its champagne brands, Vranken-Pommery Monopole owns brands port Roses and Terras do Grifo . Finally, the group is the leader in pink with Sables de Camargue (gray to gray) wine areas Listel and Côtes de Provence (pink) of the Chateau Gordonne.
